GOST STORIES

Dangerous Ouija Board Spirits
That Halloween was the creepiest I had ever experienced with the black bat and the Ouija Board. I have never had any desire to play with another one since, and raising my own four children I would never allow them to play with such a dangerous tool letting something happen to them like it to did to us that Spooky Halloween. There were many sleepless night in that house after that occurrence.
The Bermuda Triangle
The Bermuda Triangle is inexorably associated with time travel, UFOs, missing time and wormholes. Christopher Columbus wrote in his memoirs on how his compass acted strangely while sailing through the Bermuda Triangle. He also witnessed along with another shipmate a glowing globe of light that seemed to hover over the sea. Did Columbus and his shipmate witness a UFO in the Bermuda Triangle in the year of 1492? Did the UFO help Columbus find land?
Tree Ghosts of Vietnam
With all of the tragedies of Vietnam, I believe there are many, many ghosts. I will never forget as I walked the Bridge of River Kwai in Thailand. I could feel the pain and suffering that once befell this tragic area. I didn't have to be psychic to feel the deep negativity. So when Thuy Phan tells me that there are ghosts in Vietnam. I have to believe her.

mobile phones have improved our life????

The fact is, of course, that mobiles can be extremely helpful. I love answering emails while lying in bed with a cup of tea, then arriving at work feeling relaxed because my messages have been dealt with. The trick is to find a way of ensuring we are masters, rather than slaves, of the technology. We need to be aware of how much our little device is taking control of our lives. Then we can take steps to control it, and it can go back to being what it should be: an enormously useful and entertaining device. They’re helpful in managing family relationships, particularly if you’re a working mother fixing up childcare or checking on the kids. They keep you in touch with the office if you’re out on a job.
Of course there’s a downside. Many people can’t get away from work because their bosses have their mobile numbers so they’re constantly on call. Nor do I like the way the mobile is fetishised, so that people obsess over what kind of phone they have. It’s heavily sexualised through marketing, which makes people think it’s all about their identity, which is rubbish.
So while on the whole mobile phones have improved our lives now, I’m less sure about the future.

Earth Day is celebrated in spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. Many communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on environmental issues. Earth Day is now observed on April 22 on virtually every country on Earth.

PS: I just wanted to make you know that today more than ever we should protect our environment. Within any costs.

ALBANIAN INDEPENDECE DAY

Albanian Declaration of Independence is one of the most historical moments in the history of Albania. It took place in Vlorë on 28 November 1912 and is a final part of National Renaissance of Albania. The declaration of independence of 1912 was somewhat of an impromptu affair. The Ottoman Empire collapsed in the first Balkan War that began in October 1912 and the Albanians found themselves in an extremely awkward position. Their leaders were more concerned about the coalition of neighbouring Christian forces (Montenegro, Serbia and Greece) than they were about the weakened Ottoman military presence in their country. What they wanted was to preserve the territorial integrity of Albania. Within two months, Ottoman forces had all but capitulated, and it was only in Shkodra.

Assembly of Vlora

Under these circumstances, delegates from all over Albania were gathered in the Assembly of Vlora (Albanian: Kuvendi i Vlorës). Ismail Qemali returned to Albania with Austro-Hungarian support and, at the head of a swiftly-convened national assembly, declared Albanian independence in the town of Vlora on 28 November 1912. The declaration was more theoretical than practical because Vlora was the only town in the whole country under the delegates’ control―yet it proved to be effective in the vacuum of power. Though Albanian independence was recognised de facto on 17 December 1912 at the London Conference of Ambassadors, it was not until 29 July 1913, after the second Balkan War and the solving of the delicate problem of Shkodra, that the international community agreed to recognise Albania as a neutral, sovereign and hereditary principality. The assembly of eighty-three leaders meeting in Vlorë in November 1912 declared Albania an independent country and set up a provisional government. The complete text of the declaration was:
In Vlora, on the 15th/28th of November. Following the speech made by the President, Ismail Kemal Bey, in which he spoke of the great perils facing Albania today, the delegates have all decided unanimously that Albania, as of today, should be on her own, free and independent.

When is Shrove Tuesday?

Shrove Tuesday is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday and is therefore the final day before the commencement of Lent, a Christian festival leading up to Easter Sunday (Easter Day).

Shrove Tuesday always falls 47 days before Easter Sunday, so the date varies from year to year and falls between 3 February and 9 March. (See our Lent page for a visual explanation why Shrove Tuesday is 47 days and not 41 days before Easter)

Why do Christians call the day 'Shrove Tuesday'?

The name Shrove comes from the old word "shrive" which means to confess. On Shrove Tuesday, in the Middle Ages, people used to confess their sins so that they were forgiven before the season of Lent began.

What is Shrove Tuesday?

Shrove Tuesday is a day of celebration as well as penitence, because it's the last day before Lent. Throughout the United Kingdom, and in other countries too, people indulge themselves on foods that traditionally aren't allowed during Lent. Pancakes are eaten on this day because they contain fat, butter and eggs which were forbidden during Lent.
